Help Understanding Lease Documents

What Are Lease Option Documents?

Often, we at The Lease Coach are asked about alternate leasing arrangements. Many tenants and owners are interested in leases with some type of option to eventually purchase the property. When you are reviewing lease option documents, there are many specific pieces of information to locate. A few of the questions you should ask as you read the documents are:

• Is the price set now or in the future?
• If price is to be determined later, how will it be determined?
• Does any percentage of rent apply to the sale?
• What, if any, down payment will be required?

Remember, your lease will probably be one of your larger, if not the largest, monthly financial commitments.
